Symptoms of stress

Symptoms of stress are different for each person and can affect all areas of body and mind.

Stress, anxiety and depression are common experiences which come and go as our view of life fluctuates in response to external stressors. The anticipation of an exam or an important interview may cause uncomfortable feelings or symptoms of stress or anxiety. These symptoms tend to disappear after the event, but when symptoms of stress re occur to the extent whereby they become persistent over a period of time or lead to further symptoms affecting quality of life, this is when we need to make the changes in our life to help overcome stress and regain health.

Symptoms of stress can be acute and arrive suddenly, or are, more chronic and persistent in nature. Symptoms of stress can range from tension headaches through to many different symptoms of illness, some that are hard to define.

Symptoms of stress may cause you to feel unable to cope with the simplest of daily tasks, you may feel overwhelmed confused, a sense of being out of control and panicked. Sometimes when we feel anxious or vulnerable the slightest thing can trigger a strong emotional reaction, at other times we can deal with things that come along with ease. If our reaction to difficulty is clouded by emotions of inadequacy, fear or anger, it may be hard for us to see a way out of our problems, events can seem overwhelming and we feel as though we cannot cope.
